Artist of the Month for May 2023 - Mike. Mike has been making pictures out of different types of wood for the last 35 years. He still enjoys it and feels it brings out his creativity. The pictures are made using many different wood pieces, cut out, shaped and glued to a base, using their natural colors for contrast. No stain is ever used. A coat of clear lacquer is applied to each picture which protects the wood and helps it retain its natural color. This type of art is called intarsia and has been around for many centuries.
April 2023 - Terry - oils, acrylics & woodworking.
March 2023 - Corrine Holden - textiles & repurposing; David Done - colored pencils.
February 2023 - Harley Price - acrylic paints.
January 2023 - Dina Helbling - Watercolor, Pastel and Colored Pencil.
